At Kids’ Food Basket, we believe healthy food is a right, not a privilege. Since 2002, we’ve grown from serving 125 students in Kent County to providing more than 11,500 nourishing meals every weekday to 69 schools across Kent, Muskegon, Ottawa, and Allegan counties. But we’re more than meals. Through food access, education, sustainable agriculture, and community engagement, we’re working toward a future where every child has access to the nourishment that supports lifelong health and limitless potential.

Position Summary

The Food Access Coordinator plays a hands-on role in bringing Kids’ Food Basket’s mission to life each day. From coordinating meal production and supporting volunteers to helping manage distribution, inventory, and warehouse activities, this role helps ensure thousands of nourishing meals are prepared and ready to reach children across West Michigan. What You’ll Do

• Coordinate daily menus and production plans, helping ensure meals are prepared, packed, and ready for delivery on time.
• Lead day-to-day production and volunteer activities, following established processes and helping the team meet daily goals.
• Support distribution logistics, including preparing delivery information, communicating updates, loading vehicles, and helping deliveries leave on schedule.
• Partner with the Warehouse and Inventory Coordinator to support inventory, shipping and receiving, warehouse organization, and the movement of food and supplies.
• Help keep Food Access operations running smoothly by monitoring food-safety procedures, maintaining production equipment, addressing routine questions, and supporting pickups, deliveries, and special production needs.

What You’ll Bring

• A high school diploma or GED, with two or more years of relevant experience preferred.
• A valid driver’s license, plus a chauffeur’s license or willingness to obtain one, and comfort driving a box truck or willingness to learn.
• Forklift and ServSafe certifications, or the ability to complete company-provided training within your first three months.
• Strong communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and experience with inventory software preferred.
• A positive, assets-based approach, an ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds, and an interest in learning about hunger and poverty issues in West Michigan.
