We are seeking a service-driven, highly organized full time Facilities Manager to join our team! Job Summary

The Facilities Manager works Wed - Sun evenings to supervise all aspects of the janitorial staff while assisting with building maintenance, event set ups, and serving as the weekend Manager on Duty.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises Facilities Crew activities in building cleanliness/upkeep and accurate/efficient event setup/teardown
  • Conduct Facilities Crew staff performance evaluations
  • Fills in for absent employees
  • Coordinates with Human Resources to recruit/hire and evaluate/counsel Facilities Crew staff 

Manager On Duty Responsibilities 

  • Manage questions and concerns from customers and staff regarding safety concerns and/or any issues that arise over the weekend

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assign, train, inspect, and evaluate janitorial and event set-up duties
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment; request repairs as needed; make minor/interim repairs
  • Monitor team for proper use of personal protective equipment, supplies, and equipment
  • Track/maintain inventory of janitorial supplies
  • Report employee, customer, and tenant issues to Facilities Director
  • Serve as weekend manager on duty to oversee facility operations and handle issues and concerns that arise
  • Provide corrective action recommendations 
  • Uphold all processes, procedures and policies of the Downtown Market 
  • Oversee tenant and employee trash and recycling programs

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years janitorial experience
  • 3+ years supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of janitorial methods and procedures
  • Knowledge of existing safety laws, rules, methods & procedures including applicable OSHA/EPA regulations 
  • Methods of planning, prioritizing, coordinating, organizing, scheduling and supervising
  • Methods and techniques of inventory control and record keeping
  • Methods, equipment, tools and materials used in grounds and facilities maintenance, facility cleaning, and event set up
  • Knowledge of use, storage, and maintenance of custodial and grounds keeping equipment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Commercial kitchen cleaning experience preferred
  • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply (English/Spanish)

    • Perform cleaning and/or maintenance tasks overhead
    • Use power and hand tools/equipment
    • Work with commercial cleaning products, fertilizers and other common custodial and horticultural compounds
    • Tolerate exposure to temperature variations
    • Climb ladders and maintain roof structures
