Our Talent Acquisition Specialist works in collaboration with the People & Culture team and hiring managers, under the direction of the St. Vice President of People & Culture. The goal of the position is to develop and execute successful talent sourcing approaches through various mediums and platforms, for the recruitment of highly qualified candidates that match our MTM culture, employees and interns. Develop and execute recruiting strategies to attract mission-aligned, qualified candidates. Our Talent Acquisition Specialist fosters partnerships with other community non-profits, agencies and universities. This role will participate in career and internship fairs and connect with passive candidates to develop a pipeline of sources. This individual furthers our diverse and inclusive culture by executing bias-free, evidence-based interviews and vetting processes. The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full cycle hiring processes, from interview and pre-employment to onboarding while ensuring compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and EEO regulations.

Job Plan

  • Manage all posting platforms and ATS. Update posts according to our planned recruiting strategy. Ensure adherence to guidelines for photography, videography, and verbiage for all posts. Research new job posting platforms and provide recommendations to VP of POPs.
  • Establish and nurture excellent professional relationships in the recruiting community, including community agencies and organizations, local universities and trade schools, and job posting platform vendors.
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with hiring managers, scheduling interviews, providing accurate and helpful notes and recommendations, conducting job evaluations, and communicating status of candidates throughout the hiring cycle.
  • Actively participate in creating and editing job descriptions, job posts, and interview questions that promote our anti-racist, welcoming culture, and which are free of unconscious bias.
  • Communicate all employment opportunities to our staff on a weekly basis and manage all internal applications according to our process.
  • Ensure and follow all recruiting standards and vetting processes, including evidence-based interviews, interviewing scoring, document sharing/storage, approvals, and pre-employment activities.
  • Manage our internship program by communicating and building relationships with faculty members of local universities, maintaining connection and rapport with interns, completing exit interviews and program documents in a timely manner, and providing recommendations to convert promising interns to employees.
  • Provide data in support of current and future grants and evaluate departmental goal achievement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, or HR certificate preferred
  • Three years of successful recruiting experience, including an understanding of diversity recruiting
  • Excellent networking background, with internship management preferred though not required
  • High-level knowledge of job posting platforms and social media recruiting strategies
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, productive
  • Strong professional writing skills with experience creating job descriptions and interview questions
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills, including peer coaching skills
  • Skilled use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
