About this role:

We're seeking a Part-Time HR Business Partner to join our team as a trusted advisor and operational partner in human resources. This individual will partner closely with leadership to align HR practices with organizational goals, while also ensuring smooth day-to-day execution of core HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, compliance, performance management, and employee engagement.

This role requires both strategic insight and a hands-on approach-ideal for a self-motivated professional who thrives in dynamic environments and values meaningful impact. Working 20 hours per week, the HR Business Partner will play a key role in shaping culture, strengthening workforce capabilities, and improving people processes as we continue to grow and evolve. This will be a part-time role working primarily in the office (with flexibility to work from home) and will support our 45 employees in our Grand Rapids, MI location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Leadership: Act as a strategic advisor to managers and leaders, aligning talent strategy with business priorities and helping to drive organizational effectiveness.
  • Full-Cycle Talent Acquisition: Lead recruitment efforts across multiple departments, from job scoping and posting through candidate selection, offer management, and onboarding.
  • Onboarding & Retention: Design and implement onboarding processes that integrate new hires effectively and reinforce Redstamp's values and culture.
  • HRIS Management: Maintain accurate employee records and streamline workflows using our HRIS (Paychex), ensuring a seamless experience for candidates and employees.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a confidential advisor and point of contact for employee concerns, performance issues, and conflict resolution-balancing empathy with business alignment.
  • Compliance & Policy Development: Ensure all HR practices are in compliance with federal and state labor laws, while also recommending updates to internal policies and procedures.
  • Benefits & Leave Administration: Support employees in navigating benefits, time off, and leave policies with accuracy, responsiveness, and clarity.
  • Support a Culture of Safety: Partner with operations to promote and reinforce workplace safety protocols and training across all sites. Provide HR support in injury response, including incident documentation, coordination with leadership and insurance providers, and ensuring proper follow-up and return-to-work procedures.
  • Performance Coaching: Guide managers in handling performance feedback, progressive discipline, and employee development, ensuring consistent application of policy and best practices.
  • Engagement & Culture: Contribute to initiatives that foster engagement, recognition, communication, and inclusion throughout the organization.
  • Organizational Development: Participate in planning and executing initiatives related to workforce planning, change management, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification strongly preferred.
  • 5 or more years of broad HR generalist or business partner experience, with demonstrated ability to influence and support leaders across multiple functions.
  • Experience with Paychex or similar HRIS platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to execute with precision and follow through.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and collaborative working style.
