JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Customer Care Associate
REPORTS TO: Director of Retail
Classification/FLSA Status: Part-time, Non-exempt
LOCATION: DreamLab
GRADE:
SALARY RANGE: $18.00 per hour – $20.00 per hour
HIRING RANGE: $18.00 per hour
AVAILABLE SHIFTS: Please indicate your preferred shift when applying
Shift A: 10:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday, with alternating Saturdays required, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.)
Shift B: 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday, with alternating Saturdays required, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.)
POSITION SUMMARY: The Customer Care Associate serves as the frontline representative of the DreamLab Shop, ensuring a welcoming, helpful, and mission-aligned experience for all customers. This individual plays a key role in promoting the organization’s values while supporting daily retail and customer care operations. This position will be cross trained in the DreamLab Experience to provide support as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet all customers warmly and assist with purchases or questions.
- Accept deliveries and restocks as needed.
- Handle returns and inquiries in a respectful and solutions-focused manner.
- Accurately train on the Point-of-Sale (POS) system while maintaining knowledge of inventory, promotions, and store policies.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs of the retail store to ensure proper organization, appealing displays, and accurate inventory levels.
- Ensure closing procedures are completed and building is secure upon leaving.
- Coordinate day-to-day DreamLab operations, including opening/closing responsibilities, equipment checks, and security.
- Process customer care cases in Salesforce daily, when not engaging with customers, as support to Customer Care Specialist.
- Assist with Individual Girl Member cookie and fall product sale participants by reviewing the accuracy of pulled orders when distributing orders to girl/parents and completing paperwork and collecting balances due.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School graduate, GED, or associate’s degree.
- 2+ years’ experience in retail or customer service is preferred.
- Basic understanding of Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and retail technology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic math and cash handling skills.
- Dependability and professionalism.

- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and some weekends.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with retail operations, visual merchandising, and Point-of-Sale systems.
- Willingness to learn tools such as Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Checkfront
- Employment is dependent upon the results of a criminal background investigation.
Requirements:
- Adherence to Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore policies and procedures.
- Registration as a member of Girl Scouts of the USA.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and some weekends.
- Willingness to travel as job requires.
- Capability to provide own transportation and maintain valid operator license.
