Job Summary:
This position is responsible for scheduling temporary staff, both Standardized Patients (SPs) and Standardized Technical Communicators (STCs) and others as assigned, to fulfill labor needs for simulation events, including receiving, processing, and scheduling requests for the use of GVSU's Interprofessional Simulation Center. Additionally, coordination with team managers is required to determine suitable dates and efficient use of spaces per faculty's requests, serving as the lead scheduler for courses using the Interprofessional Simulation Center.
Job Classification & Benefits:
C4 Level. Minimum starting wage of $22.04 per hour

Essential Functions:
• Works with the Interprofessional Simulation Team to coordinate, schedule SPs, STCs, and others as assigned, confirming work assignments for requested simulation events across the university's programs and departments.
• Collaborates and establishes relationships with temporary employees and team managers to fulfill shifts that have been vacated, ensuring staffing needs are consistently met.
• Schedules lab and simulation events according to the specific needs of each simulation request received.
• Determines best use of space within the Interprofessional Simulation Center in conjunction with team managers and schedules academic programs each semester.
• Manages the Interprofessional Simulations Center's scheduling systems (Elevate Healthcare, EMS, Outlook, &/or other pertinent platforms) to ensure efficient use of space for training sessions, workshops, and other activities.
• Submits requests to other departments to include faculty semester course meetings and events for space reservations outside of the Interprofessional Simulation Center, managing EMS.
• Supports SP and Simulation Technology Programs with the hiring process, including onboarding and required paperwork.
• Reviews, enters and manages payroll hours in Workday for SPs and STCs.
• Manages the organization of OneDrive.
• Attends weekly team meetings and provides feedback to ensure communication between team members and the associated simulation events.
• Maintains minutes as necessary and assists in data organization/collection for accreditation purposes serving as backup for the Simulation Assistant.
• Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.
Required Qualifications:
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of four years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
• Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent.
• Data entry experience.
• Typing and spelling competency with grammar and proofreading skills.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience to successfully provide quality customer service.
• Demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, organize own work and coordinate work activities of others.
• Demonstrated experience to successfully coordinate large projects.
• Demonstrated experience to successfully handle multiple demands efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or business.
• Excellent organizational, research, writing, and communications skills.
• Demonstrated record of working on large, complex projects.
Supervision Received:
Receives minimal supervision from a designated supervisor. Much of the work is self-initiated. Person is expected to function with considerable independence and apply appropriate policies and procedures within the assigned area of responsibility.
Supervision Exercised:
May act as backup to the Simulation Assistant to hire, train, schedule and coordinate the work of student employees and may act as lead worker to PSS staff members within the department/unit/division.
Working Conditions:
• Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.
