What You'll Do:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, in this role you will get to work closely with management, production, maintenance and sales to procure goods and services necessary for all sectors of our business. Additionally, you will get to:
- Work collaboratively across functions to understand business procurement needs and to provide each department with supplies in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement sourcing and procurement strategies to optimize costs, quality and the delivery of goods and services.
- Analyze supply costs and proposals to achieve cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Process company-wide purchasing requests for equipment, various parts, tools and marketing materials.
- Maintain procurement files to ensure business continuity and assist with long-term maintenance planning
- Identify and select suppliers based on safety, quality, service, cost and sustainability.
- Ensure purchase orders are managed effectively throughout their lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and terminations.
- Track and report on KPIs related to procurement activities and implement improvements based on analysis and feedback.
- Participate in supplier/vendor qualification and/or performance audits.
- Reconcile invoices in partnership with Accounting and work diligently to prevent future discrepancies.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and warehouse accuracy/replenishment.
- Incorporate FIFO principles to monitor consumable inventories for min/max quantities.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Our ideal candidate will have/be:
- Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in the sourcing or procurement function, preferably within the mining industry, with a focus in sand mining.
- Prior experience managing purchase orders, supplier relationships and procurement processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Able to effectively drive and navigate change and pressure in the face of shifting priorities, competing demands and deadlines.
- Process orientated with an eye for continuous improvement.
- Ability to manage sensitive material and maintain confidentiality.
- A proactive approach to problem resolution.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft product suite.
- Able to wear proper PPE including steel toe shoes and safety glasses.
- Current unencumbered Driver's License
