The GVSU Health Compliance Office is seeking a full-time staff member to collaborate with health programs supporting student clinical placements by identifying placement opportunities, facilitating required onboarding documents, managing the recognition program for preceptors, maintaining the placement database and creating various placement reports as requested.

Required Qualifications and Education:

• Registered Nurse with Bachelor's degree in nursing or other health related degree
• Three to five years progressively responsible positions in clinical, health care administration or higher education health program setting(s).
• High level time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects at once.
• Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Proficiency in English language and grammar
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with contract management.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

• Master's degree in nursing, health administration or other health related degree
• Five to ten years progressively responsible positions in clinical, healthcare administration or higher education health program setting(s).
• Experience in occupational medicine or quality improvement.
• Experience working with a variety of databases and software systems.
• Experience in marketing or public relations.

Responsibilities - Essential Functions: The Clinical Initiatives Specialist will:

• Apply knowledge of academic programs and clinical roles to interface with a variety of health professionals regarding clinical placements.
• Assist academic programs to identify and secure clinical placement sites for students.
• Manage the database for clinical placement and preceptor information to ensure timely and accurate data collection and entry.
• Create clinical placement and preceptor reports for administration each semester, and as requested.
• Manage the GVSU Preceptor Perks Program including coordination of preceptor enrollment, collaboration with other university departments, and creation of documents.

• Coordinate fit testing for academic programs and manage staff competencies.

• Assist with health compliance audits and student communication.

• Assist with laboratory, immunization, and other health compliance document processing.

• Assist with affiliation agreement contract coordination.

• Assist with department communication including website maintenance.

• Promote professionalism, confidentiality, cooperation and good working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and clinical practice sites.

• Performs other duties as required/assigned by manger.

Salary: Minimum starting salary of $61,000; commensurate with experience and degree
