JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Growth & Operations is accountable for establishing and managing centralized physician practice services to support the operational and financial excellence of Answer Health aligned independent practices. This role will create and expand shared services infrastructure and staffing to support a super-regional management services organization and growing primary care practice group(s). Initial services may include but are not limited to performance assessments, financial management/reporting, revenue cycle management, EMR/data integration, and practice growth/transformation, among others. These services will promote operational and process excellence across practices and will be offered to practice managers/ administrators and lead physicians within our practices. We are seeking a senior leader with experience leading successful primary care and specialty practices and/or implementing and growing managed service organization (MSO) functions. This role reports to Answer Health’s Chief Operating Officer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead development of centralized practice management operations, including practice productivity and financial assessment, revenue cycle management, staffing, and practice infrastructure.
  • Drive highly aligned, dynamic, long-term relationships with practice administrators/managers, serving as an extension of their leadership teams; build relationships with physician practice leaders.
  • Implement appropriate financial reporting and revenue management procedures to ensure the financial success and soundness of practices; advise and assist in process improvement for accounts receivable recovery.
  • Oversee revenue integrity, stability and sustainability analytics, specialty benchmarking, financial, utilization and claims compliance, physician productivity assessment, service assessments, practice staffing and cost benchmarking, etc.
  • Support growth/succession planning for providers and practice integration/transitions.
  • Develop new practice models as a foundation for alignment of primary care providers into a single TIN medical group with supporting divisions.
  • Support business development in delivering an exceptional service experience by elevating service standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive high quality results with a heightened focus on anticipating and supporting the organizational needs.
  • Work collaboratively with Answer Health’s leadership to define and support AH’s culture within the company and across the market.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, LICENSURE, AND CERTIFICATION

Required Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 10 years management experience in ambulatory practice management or managed services organizations, preferably for independent primary or specialty medical practices.
  2. Experience working in a service organization selling services to external clients/practices.
  3. Previous P&L responsibility.
  4. High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. MBA, MAC, or equivalent graduate degree or equivalent health care work experience.
  2. Independent medical practice management or executive experience, including advisory, practice assessments, financial management, revenue cycle management, staffing, strategic planning, compensation modeling, and physician needs assessments.
  3. Experience in physician practice assessments including gross and net revenue integrity, stability and sustainability analytics, custom specialty benchmarking.
  4. Experience with medical practice start-up, transitions, merger & acquisitions with a wide range of service experience focusing on the unique needs of independent medicine.
  5. Previous experience working with an Independent Practice Association, Physician Organization, Physician-Hospital Organization, or similar network structure.

 

WORK CONDITIONS

Physical Effort: The job includes limited physical demands, typical of the job that include regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, typing, use of phone, and some lifting of light objects.
