Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team in Holland, MI.  

As a Procurement Specialist, you will:

​Manage the procurement process for assigned categories, handling sourcing, supplier selection, price negotiation, order placement, and contract administration. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure procurement activities align with business needs.

Essential Functions

  • Exercise Effective Use of Company Funds: Make sound purchasing decisions, ensuring the most effective use of company funds while adhering to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead Supplier Quality Task Teams (SQTTs): Lead SQTTs to address supplier performance issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a Database and Generate Contracts: Maintain an accurate supplier database, generate purchase order contracts using Haworth systems, and utilize spreadsheet software to analyze and evaluate technical and financial data.
  • Manage the Supplier Base: Effectively manage the supplier base and supply chain to ensure that lead times are met, quality standards are maintained, and on-time delivery is achieved, aligning with Haworth's objectives.
  • Develop Sources of Supply: Develop new sources of supply for medium-risk commodities, including conducting competitive bidding processes, selecting suppliers, and negotiating contract terms.
  • Participate in Project Teams: Actively participate in cross-functional project teams, representing the Purchasing function and providing valuable input on supply chain processes.
  • Analyze Supplier Performance: Utilize Haworth systems to analyze supplier performance, identify areas for improvement, initiate corrective actions, and track the effectiveness of those actions.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or similar field of study.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Supply Chain.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years experience directly in procurement and/or strategic sourcing preferred.
  • Experience in the finished goods, steel, metals, fasteners, or similar commodity space.
  • Experience using SAP.
  • Advanced Excel and Data Analytics skills.
  • Experience in automotive or the furniture industry.
