Job Summary

The Storage and Private Office Center of Excellence will be developing and launching a significant number of wood and steel products and product enhancements over the next 3-5 years to expand the portfolio, increase sales, and grow gross profit using CAD automation to drive high-quality, accurate configurations.  To be successful, the product engineering team will explore, learn, and deploy powerful functionality in CREO that hasn’t yet been used to its full potential within this product group.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic product engineering initiatives aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Drive innovation in product design and development, exploring and implementing advanced technologies and methodologies.
  • Lead complex problem-solving initiatives, utilizing advanced analytical techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams for large-scale product development projects, ensuring alignment and collaboration across departments.
  • Develop and implement best practices and standards for product engineering, ensuring consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and coach a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term product strategy, providing expert insights and recommendations.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar field of study
  • Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years relevant experience OR 4 years relevant experience
  • 5 years related experience with Bachelor’s Degree OR 3 years related experience with Master’s Degree
  • Possess the ability to lift, push or pull product or other items up to 50 lbs (accommodations may be available)
  • Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position

Relevant experience is defined as: Experience with product development to include a direct role in CAD, failure mode analysis, tolerance analysis and stack-up, design verification and validation planning, and agency compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business acumen to understand product costing and gross profit
  • PPAP experience to include production validation, establishing and managing project timelines
  • Casegood furniture experience with an OEM
