Resource Assistant

Job Overview: The Resource Assistant is a full-time position with an emphasis on engaging the neighborhoods and community surrounding UCOM and specifically our Latinx and Hispanic Neighbors and volunteers. This role will provide support for all UCOM programs but will focus heavily on the Healthy Choice Food Pantry. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Daily assistance with pantry needs – phones, clients, appointments, check out, etc.
• Meet with clients and record data in computer system
• Call UCOM neighbors for reminders, program updates, questions, and more
• Recruit and train volunteers focusing on bilingual neighbors
• Support Pantry Manager with farm stand sales
• Assist with supervision of afternoon volunteers after Warehouse Manager leaves.
• Translate documents and signage
• Build relationships with neighborhood groups and neighbors
• Promote UCOM programs at community forums

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required)
• Spanish language fluency required
• Must have strong computer skills
• One to two years work in a professional setting 
• Serve Safe certification a plus
