The Design Build Project Manager is responsible for walking the project through the design process including entitlement, programing efforts with the client, and overall coordination of Architectural and Project Management staff. This involves directing complex commercial design and construction projects, ensuring they align with our safety, quality, timeline, budget, and profitability goals. Demonstrating leadership by promoting our core values: doing the right thing, striving for greatness, finding solutions, and stepping up and in.

Responsibilities:  

  • Coordinates between Owner/Client, Architect, Consultants, and Project Manager.
  • Understanding of advanced manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution center construction.
  • Demonstrates effective preconstruction, estimating, budgeting, value engineering, and schedule development skills.
  • Assists in site logistics studies before locating structure on site.
  • Coordinates constructability reviews with Architect, consultants, and design build subcontractors and project manager.
  • Communicates a pre-construction milestone schedule while noting required timelines to meet owner/client needs.
  • Provides technical project leadership for diverse commercial construction projects from design to closeout.
  • Reviews drawings/plans and project progress.
  • Has experience reviewing and responding to RFQ's and RFP's .
  • Leads project processes and meetings from conception to completion, including safety plan implementation, progress meetings, subcontractor coordination, mobilization, punch-list, closeout, etc.
  • Masters advanced project management skills, including lien laws, building envelope impacts, conceptual estimating, and pricing impacts.
  • Builds a prospect base of new customer leads and contacts in coordination with team members.
  • Manages project financial tasks promptly, including change orders, budget updates, invoice approvals, etc.
  • Identifies and resolves design and construction issues promptly.
  • Collaborates with and coaches other staff such as Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and Superintendents.

Requirements: 

  • Experience in industrial and design build. Advanced manufacturing preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in Project Management in the built environment.
  • A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working on varied and intermediate projects.
  • A valid Driver’s License.
